Irish Water reveals reason for restrictions in Drumlish and Ennybegs

Customers served by the Cairnhill reservoir are affected by these water restrictions.

Irish Water says a couple of leaks in quick succession, and increased water usage in the hot spell are behind the night-time water restrictions in the Drumlish, and Ennybegs areas of Longford.

Customers served by the Cairnhill reservoir are being advised that their water supply will be turned off from 11 o' clock at night until 7 in the morning for the next few days at least.

People in the area are also being asked to try to conserve water usage in order that the reservoir gets the chance to fill up again.

John O' Donoghue who's Regional Operations Manager with Irish Water says a combination of circumstances has led to the restrictions but they hope they'll be able to lift them this weekend:
