The Ukrainian Ambassador will visit Drumshanbo early next month to attend a special concert.
The concert will feature participants in the Drumshanbo Traditional Irish Music Course, as well as members of the Ukrainian Community of Drumshanbo.
The two groups have already come together for special events in the Lough Allen Hotel and Ballinamore after an appeal for musical instruments led to the formation of musical groups among the Ukrainian community being accommodated in Leitrim. The concert will be held in the Mayflower ballroom in Drumshanbo on the 3rd of December and all proceeds will be donated to the local branch of St Vincent de Paul.
The Creative Director of the choir in Drumshanbo says they're very honoured the Ambassador has accepted their invitation, and they're looking forward to showing her how the Irish and Ukrainian people have come together through music.
