The funeral is to take place tomorrow of well known Athlone businessman man George Eaton who died at the weekend.
Mr Eaton was involved with the Gentex company in the town for several years and also served as Chairman of the board of publishing company, Mercier Press.
The Chambers of Commerce of Ireland have also issued a statement on the death of their former president saying that the late Mr Eaton had served in the role during a particularly difficult time for the economy in the mid 80's.

George Eaton also led the Portuguese Irish Chamber and was Hungary's Irish Honorary Consul.
