Tributes are being paid to former Roscommon priest Canon Kevin Early, who has passed away at the age of 79
The Ballymoe native was well known as a teacher in the Shannonside region, and served as principal of Summerhill College for a number of years.
Most recently he was the parish priest of Frenchpark until 2015.

He passed away in Drumderrig Nursing Home in Boyle on Wednesday and the diocese of Elphin has described him as someone who will be remembered fondly by a great many of those he taught for his gentleness and for the interest he took in them as people, not just as students.
