Steps are underway to train and upskill people for up to 25 new jobs in tourism in Lanesboro Ballyleague.

The positions are being developed through a series of projects being undertaken through the Lough Ree Angling Hub, and include the operation of the first fully accessible boat for people with disabilities in the UK and Ireland.

People who may be losing positions in the ESB or Bord na Mona are being urged to consider the roles.

A workshop for potential workers was hosted this week and Alan Broderrick outlines what the roles involve.
