Boyle Tidy Towns was awarded 2nd prize in the Town Centre First category, receiving €1,500.

There's been some success for local towns and villages in the 2023 Tidy Towns awards.

The ceremony was held in Croke Park earlier today

The Tidy Towns encourages communities to improve their local environment and make their area a better place to live, work and visit.

Local towns and villages were recognised for their commitment to the upkeep of their locality.

Boyle Tidy Towns was awarded 2nd prize in the Town Centre First category, receiving €1,500.

While in the Supervalu School Award, Gaelscoil Bhréifne in Cavan was awarded top prize in the Midlands and East area

Elsewhere, Carrick on Shannon was named as Leitrim's tidiest Town with Keadue receiving the accolade for Roscommon and Abbeyshrule for Longford.

Glaslough was named as Monaghan's tidiest town while Cavan Town took the honours for Cavan.

Abbeyleix in County Laois was named as Ireland's tidiest town for 2023.
