The Society of St Vincent de Paul says it will continue to help people who need it in Longford even after the local hostels are transferred to other homeless charities.
The Society announced yesterday that it has begun a process to transfer the management of all of its hostels including Bethany House and St Martha's in Longford town.
The charity says there will be no changes to the way the service operates for people who need it and they will be taking the next year to make sure it is a smooth transition.
Dunia Hutchinson who's National Manager of Homeless Services with St Vincent de Paul says people in Longford can be assured that they will continue to get the help they need.
She says the social housing and other initiatives on the ground will not change in any way either.
