The Emergency Department Taskforce must meet urgently due to persistent overcrowding issues in Local Hospitals.
That is accroding to the INMO, as there is currently over 130 patients on trolleys today in Hospitals across the Shannonside Northern Sound region.
The role of the Emergency Department Taskforce is to develop sustainable long-term solutions to ED overcrowding.

Sligo Univeristy Hospital is the worst affected with 50 people waiting for a hospital bed whilst Portiuncla Hospital in Ballinasloe has 29 people waiting in it's ED.
Nationally over 526 patients, including 7 children, have been admitted to hospital without a bed today.
