It is the second time Judge Bernadette Owens has adjourned sentencing in order for Mr Larkin to engage with probation services.

The sentencing of a man guilty of harassing a Longford Senator has been adjourned until July.

David Larkin plead guilty to the harassment of Senator Micheal Carrigy over a number of days in December 2021 and January and February 2022.

The contact ranged from Facebook messages, to texts, to a voice mail, all of which included various threats to either the Senator or his children.

A victim impact statement from Senator Carrigy previously described how the messages left him in fear for the security of his family.

Earlier this year, Judge Bernadette Owens pushed back Mr Larkin's sentencing for the production of a probation report.

At Longford District Court today, Judge Owens stated that David Larkin had been engaging with probation service.

She subsequently adjourned sentence for a further 8 weeks for Larkin to continue engaging with psychiatric service as recommend by the probation services.
