Roscommon's oldest man passes away aged 107

He was the second oldest man in the country and turned 107 in January.

The death has occurred of Roscommon's oldest man, who passed away earlier today at the age of 107.

Fairymount, Castlerea native Michael Coyne was also the second oldest man in Ireland and celebrated his 107th birthday in January.

Michael worked on the construction of the Bellacorick power station in Mayo in the 1950s and was also an employee of the John Waldron Construction Company.

He was living in the Boyle area recently where was presented with a copy of the 'Powering the West, A History of Bord na Móna and ESB in North Mayo'.
