A Roscommon willow coffin maker has won a prestigious national business award
Westcountry Willows, based in Ballinlough, took home the top prize at yesterday's Irish Business Design Challenge.
44 businesses were shortlisted from 107 entries and the west Roscommon craftspeople walked away with a €15,000 prize. The company's founder, Kate Burrows, says she was both shocked and delighted to receive the award.

''It was such a shock, I didn't expect to win. I saw all the other businesses come up on screen and they all looked so polished and so together and then there was me with a pile of sticks and thought they'll win it, and then I looked at Alan and said did that really happen.''
