A pilot cancer screening programme being operated at Roscommon hospital as part of the National Urology Strategy was among the services discussed at the Dail's Covid Committee this afternoon.
The Dail was told that the screening service has been working exceptionally well at the hospital since its introduction last year and it minimised the need for patients having to wait for long periods in waiting rooms.
Consultant Urologist Eamonn Rogers who's also National Clinical Advisor on Urology in the HSE told the members of the Covid committee that projects such as the one underway in Roscommon also relies on bed capacity and that has to be considered in the current climate.
