Roscommon Gardaí seek witnesses following local burglaries

The two burglaries occurred on the 22nd and 24th of May in Fuerty and Tulsk.

Local Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a number of burglaries in Roscommon.

On the 22nd of May, a red Honda 450 quad bike was stolen from a shed in Fuerty, Roscommon.

According to Gardaí, the suspect accessed the shed and removed the vehicle, possibly onto a trailer, before exciting the property via a gate, where a padlock and heavy duty chain were cut.

In in Tulsk, a Burglary occurred at a Glenballythomas on the 24th of May, where a number of items including jewelry were removed from the property.

Gardaí in Roscommon are urging anyone with any information to contact their local Garda station.

Crime Prevention Officer for the Roscommon Longford Division, Damien Bartley says there are several simple steps people can take to make their home safer:

Controlling access to your home starts with securing doors and windows, good house keeping.

If you have high value items such as jewellery, watches, credit cards, passports, computer data or identification documents, consider placing them in a safe.

Don't place it in your bedroom, as this is the first place a burglar will look.
