Gardaí in Roscommon are encouraging those who are vulnerable or who live alone to take part in the Message in a Bottle campaign.
The initiative asks people to keep their personal and medical details in a bottle, making them readily available to the emergency services when they arrive to a home.
It's a free scheme to the user and bottles are available from Roscommon and Castlerea Garda Stations as well as Roscommon County Council.

The project is being promoted by the county's Joint Policing Committee, Roscommon Lions Club and An Garda Siochana in conjunction with Roscommon County Council's Age Friendly programme and Roscommon Older Peoples Network.
