Roscommon County Council dealt with the largest amount of freedom of information requests in the region

Local authorities in the Shannonside Northern Sound region dealt with over five-hundred Freedom of information applications last year.

A new report published by the Information Commissioner reveals that Roscommon County Council processed the largest amount of FOI a request last year at 133.

The majority of requests to local County Councils were for non-personal information, with a total of 106 requests asked of Leitrim County Council, 105 for the Cavan Local Authority, 102 requests dealt with in Longford and just 84 in Monaghan - the second-lowest in the country.
