Businesspeople in a West Roscommon town are once again calling for the installation of CCTV following an increase in the number of thefts from their premises.
The retailers say there has been a surge in shoplifting incidents in Ballaghaderreen in recent years. A number of business owners say the increasing criminal behaviour is putting their livelihoods at risk. Pat Towey, who owns Towey's Spar on the Dublin Road, claims little is being done to deter would-be thieves.
