Re-opening progress sees 350 people come off PUP in local counties

The re-opening of many non essential retail outlets and services has seen 350 people across Roscommon, Longford and Leitrim ending their PUP payments in the last week

350 people in the Shannonside region have closed their pandemic unemployment payments this week as the country has begun another phase of reopening.

133 people in Roscommon are returning to work, with 4,265 people remaining on the payment.

In Leitrim, a drop of 109 people claiming the support has left 2,327 others on the payment.

While in Longford, 2,344 employees are still in receipt of the PUP following a drop of 108.

Nationally, over 363,000 people will receive the pandemic Unemployment payment this week, a drop of almost 13,500 on last week.

Over 107 million euro in PUP payments are being made into accounts today.
