Leitrim councillor Seán McGowan is calling for a former hotel in Rooskey to be added to the Derelict Sites Register - as it's become "an eyesore".
The owner would then face a levy of 7 per cent of its value every year.
The Shannon Key West Hotel closed around 15 years ago and now has fencing around it.
