Residents and landowners affected by flooding in the Carrick on Shannon catchment are being urged to give their input into a new flood relief scheme.

Residents and landowners affected by flooding in the Carrick on Shannon catchment are being urged to give their input into a new flood relief scheme.

While the CFRAM study has provided some guidance on what type of flood relief scheme may be adopted, the local authority and the OPW need to develop more localised and detailed solutions.

Over 5,000 letters have been sent out with questionnaires and contact details for consulting engineers Ryan Hanely as part of this initial public consultation, which has had to be adjusted due to Covid 19 restrictions.

It's hoped that a flood risk scheme can be developed and go for approval in the middle of next year.
