Power outage in Longford was due to underground cable fault

The ESB is apologising to over 2,000 customers in the Longford town area affected by a power outage yesterday.

They say the outage was caused by an underground cable fault and crews were quickly mobilised to carry out repairs.

ESB networks says total of around 2,500 customers were affected by the outage which happened just before four o' clock yesterday afternoon.

Power was restored to all customers shortly before half past six.
