As part of the plans, a zebra crossing is to be installed on the N61, with further crossings planned for either end of Main Street.

Roscommon County Council are seeking Part 8 planning permission for works changing Boyle's traffic flow. The local authority are seeing to implement a one-way system on the L50571 and realign the junction between the N61 and L5057. As part of the plans, a zebra crossing is to be installed on the N61, with further crossings planned for either end of Main Street.

Existing pedestrian crossings at Military Road and The Crescent are also to be upgraded as part of the proposed plan. Works on the project would include footpath improvements, pedestrian and road lights, pavement works, traffic signs and road markings. Councillors from the Boyle Municipal District will discuss the plans at a future meeting of the local electoral area council.
