Planning permission lodged for major extension works to Roscommon school

A Roscommon national school has applied for major extension works.

Tarmon National School in Castlerea has applied for planning permission to build a single storey extension consisting of new special education classrooms.

Included in the application is 1 new S-E-N room, an Early Intervention Classroom, a Multisensory Room, and 3 Mainstream Classrooms.

A new office and storage space is also part of the application along with the demolition of the existing storage space and the provision of additional car parking spaces.

The school has also applied for the retention of the existing temporary car park on site.

Roscommon County Council will decide on the application in April
