Planning permission has been granted for the change of a Tile Centre in Athlone into an indoor Astro Turf pitch.
Plans were submitted by David Fogarty Mamber of Fog Limited for the change of use of the site at Grace Road in the town.
The development includes the transformation of the tile centre to a gymnasium featuring an indoor astro turf pitch, dressing rooms and toilet facilities.

Plans also allow both internal and external works, signage and site works.
The permission has been given with 8 conditions attached, including that the developer must pay a fee of €36,294 to the planning authority.
While another states that the applicant has full responsibility for any damage caused to the public footpath or road as a result of works.
