People across the region urged to support their local Domestic Violence groups

Longford Women's Link DV unit provides supports to women and children experiencing domestic violence.

It's vital to help local domestic violence services maintain their supports for families suffering violence.

That's according to Longford Women's Link who say donations to their Domestic Violence Unit go towards vital local supports and resources.

Financial concerns, increased alcohol consumption and more time spent together can contribute to increased levels of domestic violence over the Christmas.

Unit manager Natalie O'Reilly is urging the public across the Shannonside region to support their local Domestic Violence groups such as Roscommon Safe Link, DVAS Sligo/Leitrim or themselves in Longford.

She told Shannonside FM that these resources stay on a local level and help people in the community.
