Leitrim County Council is to ask the owner of a former landmark hotel to address the poor condition of the site.
Local councillor Seán McGowan asked the local authority to put the Shannon Key West Hotel in Rooskey on the Derelict Sites Register.
But the council says the building itself is not derelict - but the site is overgrown and unkempt.
It has agreed to write to the owner to ask them to improve its appearance - so it's not added to the Derelict Sites Register in the future.
