Over 7,500 incidents of crime were reported across the region last year. CSO figures, released today, show recorded incidents fell for most offences in 2025. The number of homicide and related offences recorded last year was down 25 per cent on 2024. In total, there were 7,520 cases of crime reported across the Roscommon-Longford and Sligo-Leitrim divisions last year.
Road and traffic offences were among the most recorded locally, at 1,430 cases. While theft and related offences accounted for 1,229 of all cases recorded across the two Garda divisions. Nationally, the number of burglary cases were down by 13 per cent, sexual offences dropped by 9 per cent, while weapons and explosives offences rose by 6 per cent.
