There were over 5,000 people in the Shannonside region on the live register last month.
That's according to new data released by the Central Statistics Office.
The Live Register is a monthly CSO survey that counts people under 65 registering for Jobseeker's Benefit, Jobseeker's Allowance, or Jobseeker's Pay Related Benefit.
There were just over 2,000 on the live register in Co Longford last month.
In Co Roscommon, there were just over 1,900 with over 900 collecting social welfare payments from the Castlerea office.
There were over 1,500 in Co. Leitrim on the live register in February, with the Carrick-on-Shannon office accounting for 1,147 of that figure.
