North Longford community in shock following death of elderly couple

The bodies were discovered on Saturday evening, with the cause of death suspected to be due to Carbon Monoxide Poisoning.

The community of a North Longford Town is in shock today following the discovery of the bodies of an elderly couple in their home over the weekend. Paul and Morag Kavanagh's bodies were discovered on Saturday evening at their home in Killasonna, a townland 5 kilometres from Granard. The cause of death was suspected to be due to Carbon Monoxide Poisoning.
Gardaí have confirmed that they will not be conducting criminal investigations in relation to the discovery.

Local Councillor PJ Reilly described the shock of the local community following the death of the couple.
Speaking on the Joe Finnegan Show today, he described how the family had been living in the area for up to 30 years.
