New witnesses to be interviewed over suspicious death of Leitrim man - and foreign forensics to examine evidence

Liam Farrell, 87, was found dead outside his home in Rooskey in January 2020, and his family believes he was attacked.

New witnesses are to be interviewed about the suspicious death of a Leitrim man five years ago.

Foreign forensic experts will also carry out an independent examination of the evidence.

This was revealed at a meeting Liam Farrell's family had with gardai today, after a review of the garda investigation was finished.

87-year-old Liam was found dead outside his home in Rooskey in January 2020, and his family believes he was attacked.

His son, Brendan, was disappointed with aspects of the review - as he told Eoghan Murphy a short time ago:
