A new judge has been permanently appointed to the Shannonside region.
Judge Bernadette Owens has been assigned to the Longford Westmeath District Court with immediate effect.
The seat had been left vacant following the death of Judge Seamus Hughes in July.

Judge Ownes has previously sat in the region, acting as a movable judge across the country.
