It looks like the government is going to accept the Low Pay Commission's recommendation of a €1.40 increase to the minimum wage - bringing it to €12.70.

Speaking in the Dáil on Tuesday, Deputy MacSharry said it was widely accepted that the minimum wage increase was vital for workers but that employers shouldn't be made take the brunt of the expense alone.
