The new Cathaoirleach of Roscommon Municipal District says he'll be leading a number of important projects in the next twelve months. Fianna Fáil's Marty McDermott was chosen to succeed party colleague Paschal Fitzmaurice at a meeting this morning. He was proposed by Cllr Larry Brennan and seconded by Cllr Ruth Conboy. Cllr Brennan has been elected as Leas Cathaoirleach.
Cllr McDermott was first elected to Roscommon County Council in 2019. The Oran native says he's looking forward to a busy year:
