An inmate at Mountjoy Prison has died after being attacked at the jail last week.
The man, who was in his 30s, was taken to the Mater Hospital following the assault on Friday evening but he's since passed away.
The Irish Prison Service says the incident continues to be investigated by the IPS and Gardaí.

Stephen Breen, Crime editor with the Irish Sun, says the attack happened just two days into the man's sentence.
