Longford had 4th highest number of Community Service Orders last year

Longford was among the counties issued with the highest number of Community Service Orders in the country last year.

The figures, published in the Probation Services Annual Report, show that Carlow and Kilkenny had the highest number of such orders with Clare and Longford not far behind.

Just under 50 Community Services were issued per 100,000 residents in Longford last year.

Meanwhile, an average of 40 such orders per 100,000 residents were issued in Cavan, while just over 30 were issued in Monaghan and Roscommon.

Leitrim was among the counties with the lowest number of Community Service Orders per head.
