There are growing report of people being upset by dogs running loose at public parks and beauty spots

A local dog warden is urging people across the region to keep their pets on a lead while using public amenities.

The call comes as internal county travel has resumed and people are taking advantage of trails and walkways in the region.

According to Hillary Robinson, loose dogs can pose a risk to other animals, children or adults.

Speaking to the Joe Finnegan Show, the Longford dog warden says she's had reports of unleashed dogs causing trouble at beauty spots in the county:
