The plight faced by marginalised people in Kashmir will be the focus of a special event in Longford this evening.
The Kashmir Solidarity Conference is due to begin in the Longford Rugby Club in the next hour.
The event is organised by Kashmir Peace Forum International who aim to highlight human rights abuses in Jammu and Kashmir, a disputed territory administered by India.

The conference will feature a key note address from Pakistan Ambassador to Ireland, Aisha Farooqui, as well as addresses from local TDs Sorca Clarke and Joe Flaherty, Senator Michéal Carrigy along with international law expert Jamal Aziz and researcher Hadiqa Mir.
The event will take place over the course of the evening starting at 6pm.
