Roscommon-Galway TD Claire Kerrane has welcomed the clearing of a major littering blackspot in Ballaghaderreen.
Residents in the Charlestown road estate in the west Roscommon town had been left upset and distressed by the reported dumping of bags of waste, litter, electrical items as well as clothing.
It was claimed that some items in the area had been present for almost four years.

The Sinn Fein representative has welcomed moves by Council official this week to clear the site and is hopeful the rest of the estate will be completed .
She also believes that the current laws around illegal dumping are not working and the penalties are not deterring people from committing fly-tipping.
