Local TD urges government to provide front line workers with extra time off

The Taoiseach confirmed earlier in the year that the Government will recognise the frontline healthcare workers for their work during the pandemic.

A Roscommon TD is calling on the government to officially recognise the work done by frontline workers in the last 15 months.

Denis Naughten TD has described as "disappointing" that frontline workers in hospitals and healthcare settings have not received any recognition from Government.

He claimed in the Dail that after three waves of the Coronavirus as well as a cyberattack, staff are mentally and physically exhausted and they must be provided with additional time off

He is urging the movement to consider a similar benefit to what has been provided to NHS staff in Scotland:
