Ireland's national youth parliament enables young people aged 12 to 17 to exercise their right in influencing decision-makers on the topics most important to them.

A number of local students recently attended a session of Dáil na nÓg.
Ireland's national youth parliament enables young people aged 12 to 17 to exercise their right in influencing decision-makers on the topics most important to them.
In Longford, TY student Dáithí McLoughlin was at the session, as well as 3rd year student and Comhairle member Sarah Taitt and 6th-year student Alesha Purcall.

While Monaghan pupils Jonathan Rooney and Neasa Nic Giolla Seanain were at the debate, which centred around education.
Speaking on the JF Show this morning, Jonathan explained there was a focus on the need for continuous assessment in secondary schools:

Incoming National Executive member for Longford Comhairle na nÓg, Dáithi McLoughlin said there were also talks about how the Irish language is taught in school:
