New changes in payment fees are causing solicitors across the country to resign from the legal aid scheme.
Solicitors will be paid a flat fee of 520 euro - regardless of how many appearances they represent a client at.
That replaces the 240 euro they received for first appearances, and around 60 euro for each sitting which followed.
Roscommon-based Solicitor Alan Gannon is resigning from the legal aid panel - he says the changes mean there's a chance they might not get paid at the end:
