A local Senator has praised a new mural unveiled in Ballaghaderreen in the Seanad.
The mural is in remembrance of the abolition of corporal punishment.
It's on the former De La Salle Brothers School - which is now the town's Family Resource Centre.
Corporal punishment was scrapped by then Education Minister John Boland in 1982.
Fine Gael Senator Gareth Scahill acknowledged the work done by the local community in the Seanad this week:
