A local Family Carers representative has welcomed this week's expansion of the Carer's Allowance. Bernie Dowling is now encouraging carers to avail of the new income threshold. It increased this week from €450 to €625 for a single person, and from €900 to €1,250 for carers with a spouse or partner.
