Three local organisations are in the running for a major funding prize from the National Lottery.
The Good Cause Awards honour the achievements of groups, clubs, charities and individuals who positively impact local communities.
Three organisations in the Shannonside Region have been nominated along side 32 entrants, with a grand total of €35,000 available for the overall winner.
Longford's Cian's Kennels has been shortlisted in the Health and Well being category.
In Roscommon, the Melting Pot Community society is in the running in the Community section.
While in Leitrim, Heritage group Cavan and Leitrim Railway are in with a chance at the top prize.
Each entrant has already been granted €1,000, with a prize of €10,000 available for category winners.
The overall winner of the National Lottery Good causes award will receive an additional €25,000 for their group, charity or club.
