Organised family events can help prevent anti-social behaviour according to a Longford County Council spokesperson. It comes as crime levels in Longford are continuing to return to pre-pandemic levels according to Garda figures released earlier this month.
Longford's annual Dead of Night Festival will take over the town this evening which includes a Fire and Shadow Procession and bonfire show. Janine Bartley of Longford County Council says events like this can allow people celebrate Halloween in a safe and controlled environment:
