A centre in Roscommon for people with disabilities has received a largely positive report from the health watchdog. An unannounced inspection of Pine Services was carried out in July, the details of which have been published this week. Pine Services is a residential service, which is run by the Brothers of Charity Services. The centre provides accommodation and support for five male and female adults over the age of 18 years, with an intellectual disability. Residents told inspectors they felt safe, respected, and part of the community. The service met standards in staffing, training, and communication. Inspectors praised staff for creating a warm and supportive environment. Some improvements were advised around record-keeping and safeguarding practices. HIQA says the provider is working to address these before the year's end.
