Local advocate condemns Dublin deer incident

A herd of 16 Irish red deer, including the stag, have been living in the North Dublin parklands for over 20 years.

Investigations are underway after a stag was found dead in parklands in north Dublin.

The headless body of the stag, which was part an Irish Red Deer herd at Newbridge House and Gardens in Donabate, was found by staff as they went to feed the animals yesterday morning.

A herd of 16 Irish red deer, including the stag, have been living in the North Dublin parklands for over 20 years.

Foreman of works at Newbridge House and Traditional Farm Ivan Smith said the stag’s head was removed from the grounds and its dismembered body was left behind.

Local animal rights activist, Gerry Boland has condemned the incident:
