Limited number of hospital appointments taking place as cyber attack continues to impact

People with appointments at hospitals serving the Shannonside  region are being urged to check with the hospital if they are still unsure about cancellations.

Emergency Departments, emergency inpatient surgery, cheomotherapy, and maternity services are still operating in all hospitals - however delays can be expected.

In Mullingar and Tullamore hospitals, some elective procedures are taking place while outpatient appointments in diagnostic imaging and x-rays continue to be affected.

In Galway, Sligo and Roscommon hospitals, endoscopy, elective inpatient and day case procedures are cancelled, as well as the majority of outpatient appointments in diagnostic imaging and x-rays.

People are asked to consider the HSE.ie website to get a breakdown of changes in individual hospitals.

General Manager of Roscommon University Hospital Mary Garvey says they are making decisions on a case by case basis.
