Mr Wisley, who wasn't represented by a solicitor, addressed the court to confirm his name and to agree to bail conditions set out by Gardai.

He has agreed to stay away from the Orwell Road in Dublin 14, as well as to avoid any direct or indirect contact with Russian Embassy staff.

Garda Aishling Conroy of Tallaght Garda Station told the court Mr Wisley must also avoid the Ailesbury Road in Dublin 4, as well as posting about the charges on social media.
