The Boil Water notice for people who use the Lanesboro Public Water Supply is likely to stay in place for at least the next week.
While Irish Water says the issue is due to a mechanical failure at the water treatment plant, even if the part is fixed by this week, the water then has to tested three consecutive times before it's passed by the HSE.
Almost 5,000 people across Lanesboro, parts of Netowncashel , Killashee, and Derrahaun are all impacted by the notice which was issued last Friday evening.

Michael Cunniffe from Irish Water days they'll be working as fast as possible to have the notice lifted but that could take several days yet.
