The Dail has heard that a healthcare worker at the Midlands Regional Hospital in Mullingar is 'fed up' of the government's lack of a clear plan to provide childcare for frontline medical staff.

The comments were made as Longford-Westmeath TD Robert Troy read out an email he received from the frontline staff member this week.

The Dail heard that the worker has been left entirely frustrated by the government's stalled efforts to implement a special scheme to provide childcare for staff in hospitals and health care settings

A survey this week indicated that the majority of crèche operators will not re-open as planned next month in phase two of the government's lifting of restrictions.
